Les Arts presents works by Matilde Salvador and Evangelista on October 9th, under the direction of Jordi Bernàcer
04.10.2017
The Palau de les Arts celebrates the Nou d'Octubre with a free concert by the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana under the direction of Jordi Bernàcer (Alcoi, 1976), in the Auditori, at 6:00 p.m.
This is the second performance of the 2017-2018 season at Les Arts with the Alcoy-born conductor and current resident conductor of the San Francisco Opera, who conducted the Open House concert on September 24.
Les Arts dedicates the first part of the Nou d'Octubre program to two important figures in the musical history of the Valencian Community: Matilde Salvador, whose birth centenary will be celebrated next year, and José Evangelista.
Maestro Bernàcer begins the evening with 'Marxa del rei Barbut', from the comic opera 'La filla del rei Barbut', based on the stories in the book ' Tombatossals', by Josep Pascual Tirado, which the composer from Castellón premiered in 1943. It will be followed by the orchestral work 'Alap et Gat' (1998), by José Evangelista, a Valencian musician with an international career who has been based in Canada for years.
'Pavane for a Dead Princess' by Maurice Ravel and 'The Firebird' by Igor Stravinsky close the program of this free concert on the occasion of the Day of the Valencian Community.
Les Arts reminds everyone that it is essential to request a ticket in advance to attend. To this end, and in order to ensure the fairest possible distribution, a schedule for online and in-person seat allocation has been established.
Online applications for invitations for the general public will be accepted on Thursday, October 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., or until all available tickets are sold out. In-person distribution will take place on Friday, October 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or while tickets remain available.
