Valencia (27.01.25). The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía enters the second week of its 'Les Arts és Músiques Valencianes' cycle, dedicated to the diversity and richness of the musical scene of the Valencian Community, with performances by Doña Manteca and La Plata in the Teatre Martín i Soler.
Les Arts welcomes the Latin rhythms of 'Doña Manteca' and their debut album, 'Presente,' on Thursday, January 30th at 7:30 pm. Three young women from Valencia, Elena and Paula Almendros and Empar Mora, make up this rising group. With their vocal harmonies and accompaniment of guitar, violin, and double bass, their versions of Latin classics have gone viral, earning the approval of artists such as Jorge Drexler, Karol G, and Nathy Peluso.
'Presente' is a compilation of cover versions of songs by various artists, with which the Valencian group aims to breathe new life into these well-known tracks and, at the same time, pay tribute to their original composers, because, as the group states, "good music is forever." As the grand finale of their performance, 'Doña Manteca' will present their first original composition at Les Arts.
La Plata, the quintet formed by Diego Escriche, Salvador Frasquet, María Gea, Patricia Ferragud, and Miguel J. Carmona, will premiere their new album, Interzona, at the Teatre Martín i Soler. The Valencian group, recognized as one of the leading forces in the local music scene, will perform tracks from this album, which marks their return to the sounds of the 90s, in a show that will also feature the best songs from their previous works.
With 'Interzona', La Plata makes clear their intention to continue experimenting with music. This latest album features more reflective, acoustic, and calm sounds than those heard in previous works by the Valencian band.
The 'Les Arts es Musiques Valencianes' cycle covers three weeks of the Valencian lyric theatre program, from January 24 to February 9, with a lineup that also includes performances by 'Novembre Elèctric' and 'Andreu Valor'.
