Les Arts col·labora per quart any in the project 'The Opera, a Vehicle of Learning'

The Palau de les Arts collaborates to organize consecutively both the workshops The Opera, a Learning Vehicle (LÓVA), in which, throughout this season, 20 work groups from educational centers from all over the Valencian territory will participate.
The objective of the students in the LÓVA workshops is the creation, from scratch, of an operatic production. Organized in teams with professionals from the sector, the students will provide all the necessary support to develop their opera muntatge.
Among the different tasks they will carry out, the participants will write the book, design the decorations and lighting, also compose the music, make the costumes and props, coordinate the publicity or collect funds.
Conéixer from dins the functioning of an opera theater and working in equipment gives the classroom a new dimension to generate reptes and dynamics of work in which prevails, over all, the teaching in values and the cohesion of the group.
One of the phases of the project included a visit to Les Arts, as the opera theater closest to the educational center. During a tour of the theater, students will have the possibility of exchanging information and raising questions and problems with those responsible for the different areas of work (artistic, technical and administrative) for the duration of their next functions.
LÓVA is trained in the experience of applying the “project-based learning” methodology, with a new teaching system to achieve school success, work and evaluate competencies.
This new 2018-2019 season, and after passing the training courses directed to the Valencian professor, and coordinated by the Cefire artisticoexpressiu of Castelló, new companies are immersed in this project that not only reaches the students involved and the six professors, but also serves the social environment of the participating center. There are many families who have had their first contact with opera thanks to LÓVA, a necessary and important aspect for our educational and social context.
