Violeta Urmana performs 'Lieder' by Schubert i Strauss at Les Arts
11.11.2019
Violeta Urmana stars in the day that sees November 17, at 6:00 p.m., the second session of 'Les Arts és Lied', the first cycle that the Palau de les Arts dedicates entirely to this musical form, in which some of the most recognized artists in the lyrical panorama participate.
Accompanied by Helmut Deutsch, considered the most prestigious repertoireist today, the Lithuanian mezzo-soprano discovered her signature facet as a 'liederist' in both works of Franz Schubert and Richard Strauss in her return to the main hall.
Violeta Urmana is one of the most appreciated by the public of Les Arts, a theater with which I maintained a close relationship from its first seasons. It is a reference in the German and Italian repertoire, among its six successes in Valencia, 'Parsifal', 'Iphigénie en Tauride', 'Medea' and 'Don Carlo' stand out, along with the concert 'Homenaje a Puccini', which will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Italian composer.
A regular guest at the Metropolitan of New York, the Teatro Real, the Liceu and the Opéra National in Paris, among others, she has worked with directors of the stature of Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Bertrand de Billy, Pierre Boulez, Semyon Bychkov, Riccardo Chailly, James Conlon, James Levine, Jesús López Cobos, Fabio Luisi, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Simon Rattle, Donald Runnicles, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Franz Welser-Möst and Christian Thielemann.
Violeta Urmana cultivates, therefore, a successful career as a recital performer, which has brought her to the most important concert sales in Europe, the Stats Units and Japan with pages of Berlioz, Mahler, Richard Strauss, Schönberg, Verdi and Wagner.
The coliseum reminds interested parties that the price of tickets ranges between 20 and 40 euros and that they can be purchased at the theater box office and through the website www.lesarts.com .
The countertenor Philippe Jaroussky (12th grade), the baritone Simon Keenlyside (1st February) and the soprano Ainhoa Arteta (15th March) will star in the next sessions of 'Les Arts és Lied'.
