Les Arts celebrates Rossini's anniversary with an opera marathon, concerts, recitals, gastronomic activities, DJ music, col·loquis and cinema

20.02.2020

The Palau de les Arts celebrates from February 20 to 29 the birth of Gioachino Rossini with a festival of activities around the figure of the composer born in Pesaro and his cultural arrival, which will culminate with the premiere of the opera 'Il viaggio a Reims' on February 29 in the Main Hall.

Named after 'Marató Rossini', Les Arts proposes a complete agenda of opera, symphonic music, recitals, gastronomic activities, educational workshops, trobades and col·loquis, in addition to DJ music and cinematographic sessions in different parts of the city of Valencia and also Castelló.

The artistic director of Les Arts, Jesús Iglesias Noriega, presented at a press conference this new initiative that he offers, “through a transversal figure like Rossini, a wide and varied window of cultural proposals that transcend beyond the musical so that each city can discover its space in Les Arts and in its current programming.”

In this sense, Iglesias Noriega has highlighted the business and institutional collaboration that has allowed the relocation of the activities that, in addition to the Arts, housed spaces such as the Museum of Fine Arts of Castelló, the IVAM, the Filmoteca, the La Nau Cultural Center, the Joaquín Rodrigo Superior Conservatori de Música and the Lys Cinemas.

The 'Marató Rossini' will also transcend the artistic work of the brilliant composer to explore and experience the prestigious fame of 'bon vivant'. Rossini's renowned culinary skills will arrive at the Valencian gastronomic circuit, thanks to the collaboration of Tourism and the Valencian Hospitality Business Federation (FEHV), to taste his famous recipes in various restaurant spots in the province of Valencia.

Les Arts reminds you that the concerts, the recitals, the performances and the col·loquis are only available in order to complete the capacity of the sales. In this way, the opera session at Cines Lys is also free. For more information on this topic, interested parties can consult the Les Arts website .
