The artists of the Center de Perfectionament resume their face-to-face classes at Les Arts
- The teaching staff has maintained the training program for young singers and pianists via telematics during the lockdown period
- They are the first artistic collective to join the work at Les Arts within a strict occupational health protocol
Valencia (May 27, 2020). The singers and repertoire pianists who make up the Centre de Perfeccionament of the Palau de les Arts have resumed their in-person classes this week as part of the program that Les Arts has designed to restart artistic activity.
The nine singers and two pianists are the first artists to join the work at Les Arts to begin rehearsals for the Valencian adaptation of 'Il tutore burlato', as well as the preparation of different recital programs with piano.
The cultural center has put in place a strict protocol to guarantee occupational health and distancing measures, which in the case of the Centre de Perfeccionament are facilitated by the size of the rehearsal rooms.
For individual study sessions at Les Arts facilities, young artists must now make a prior reservation of a room and time slot in order to carry out the relevant tasks of preparation, cleaning and disinfection of the space.
Starting this Monday, students are facing the final stretch of the academic year after two months of distance learning under the supervision of tenor Raúl Giménez, who has overseen both the students' progress and needs during the lockdown period.
Since March 16, the head of training at the Centre de Perfeccionament, along with other teachers such as Enedina Lloris and Juan Esteve, established a program of personalized videoconferences for each performer to continue with lessons on subjects such as Vocal Technique, Repertoire and Alexander Technique.
Similarly, young singers and pianists have joined the online proposals that Les Arts has offered during the confinement period with performances of pieces by Rossini or Mozart.
In addition, to mark World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, the artists have started a series, available on the arts center's social media, in which each of them shares a song from their country of origin.
The Centre de Perfeccionament is an internationally focused project that attracts young people from different countries to Valencia to receive high-level artistic training. Living together and cultural exchange are fundamental aspects of the program, which currently includes eleven artists from nine European and American countries.
The activities at the Centre de Perfeccionament del Palau de les Arts will continue until the end of July. Starting in September, the singers and pianists will begin their second year, completing the two-year training program developed by the theater's artistic director.
