Valencia (13.07.20). The Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV) offers its first symphonic concert under the new normal this Wednesday, July 15, at 8:00 p.m. in the Main Hall.
After offering three celebrated chamber music programs both at Les Arts and in different municipalities of the Valencian territory, the OCV will close the 'Torna a Les Arts' cycle with works by Beethoven under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock.
For the first time since the return to activities open to the public, the Main Hall will open its doors with a maximum occupancy of 75% of its total capacity, which will entail the mandatory use of masks for the attending public.
The renowned German conductor Thomas Hengelbrock is already in Valencia to prepare his debut leading the OCV with a program celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of the Bonn composer with the works 'Fidelio Overture, Op. 72' and symphonies number 6 and 8.
Les Arts thus joins the celebrations of Beethoven Year, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Bonn composer's birth. Furthermore, two days later, on Friday the 17th, the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, conducted by Hengelbrock, will perform the same program at the Granada International Festival of Music and Dance.
Thomas Hengelbrock is considered one of the most versatile and fascinating conductors of his generation. Particularly renowned for his historically informed performance work in the Baroque period, his repertoire ranges from 17th-century music to contemporary works and encompasses all genres.
