Les Arts will be open that day from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visitors will be able to freely and continuously explore iconic spaces such as the Main Hall and the Auditori, as well as the building's terraces, including the Balcó de la Mar, with views of the City of Arts and Sciences and the Mediterranean Sea in the background, and the impressive gardens of the Terrasses de les Palmeres, 27 meters high.
The route is only conditioned by the performance of the different shows included in the offer for this day, as well as by compliance with the capacity limits set by the health and hygiene regulations in light of the COVID-19 situation.
As a main novelty, the Espai Los Toros, on the eleventh floor, will house an exhibition with costumes and props from the opera 'Carmen', made by costume designer Pedro Moreno for the production directed by Carlos Saura at Les Arts.
Symphonic music and recitals
For their part, the artists from the Center de Perfectionament del Palau de les Arts and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV) complete the cultural offering of the day.
The Teatre Martín i Soler will host two sessions, at 12:00 and 17:00, of a recital in which the young singers and pianists of the Les Arts training project will perform fragments of opera and zarzuela.
The Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana will close the day with a symphonic concert at the Auditori at 7:00 p.m., conducted by Valencian Jaume Santonja. The young maestro makes his debut with Les Arts' resident orchestra with a program focused on classicism and Mozart, the composer who will inaugurate the opera season.
The conductor, born in Bocairent, is already rehearsing with the OCV pages by the genius of Salzburg, Martín i Soler, Cristóstomo de Arriaga, along with Schubert's 'Fifth' and the 'Symphony number 1' by the Asturian Ramón Garay.
Currently assistant conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Jaume Santonja has an extensive career behind him, in which he has conducted, among others, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the RTVE Orchestra, the Verdi Symphony Orchestra of Milan, the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias, the Extremadura Orchestra, the Cordoba Orchestra and the Alicante Symphony Orchestra.
