  • Accompanied on the piano by James Baillieu, the Scandinavian diva will perform 'Lieder' by Brahms, Schumann, Grieg and Strauss.
  • Ainhoa Arteta, Anita Rachveslishvili, Christian Gerhaher, René Pape, and Sonia Yoncheva headline the remaining evenings of the series.

Valencia (23.10.20). The emerging soprano Lise Davidsen will inaugurate the second edition of the 'Les Arts és Lied' cycle this Sunday, October 25, at 6:00 p.m. in the Main Hall.

Recognized by American critics as 'one voice in a million', Lise Davidsen arrives at Les Arts as one of the new sensations of the dramatic repertoire: her range and artistic talent have been compared to that of the great Nordic divas of the genre such as Birgit Nilsson or Kirsten Flagstad.

James Baillieu accompanies her on the piano in a recital in which the Scandinavian soprano will perform 'Lieder' by Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann, Edvard Grieg and Richard Strauss.

'Les Arts és Lied' will bring together some of the most outstanding performers of this musical form in Valencia during the 2020-2021 Season. In addition to Lise Davidsen, stars such as the renowned lieder singer Christian Gerhaher and the sought-after mezzo-soprano Anita Rachveslishvili will make their debut in the Main Hall.

The second edition of the cycle will also allow performers who have enjoyed memorable recognition at Les Arts, such as bass René Pape or soprano Sonia Yoncheva, to return to Valencia.

In addition, on November 29, Les Arts will resume the recital by soprano Ainhoa Arteta that was cancelled last season due to the declaration of the state of emergency.

Tickets for 'Les Arts és Lied' range from €10 to €40. For more information, please visit the theater's website: www.lesarts.com.
