Valencia (03.11.20). The Palau de Les Arts will offer a live stream of the opera 'Il tutore burlarto', by Vicente Martín i Soler, on November 20 at 8:00 p.m. through the Les Arts website, www.lesarts.com , thanks to the collaboration of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana.

This was announced today by the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, and the president of the Board of Trustees of Les Arts, Pablo Font de Mora, at a press conference following the signing of the fourth collaboration agreement between the two entities.

Through this agreement, Turisme Comunitat Valenciana will contribute financially to cultural promotion and marketing activities with a maximum amount of 220,000 euros.

As the regional secretary for Tourism explained, “four years of agreements have generated a firm alliance for the defense of cultural tourism in the Valencian Community, hand in hand with opera and a benchmark such as the Palau de Les Arts.”

In his opinion, “finding this line of work from the Generalitat with the most emblematic coliseum we have seems like a success”; while he highlighted that “positioning Valencia as a leading, open and cosmopolitan city seemed fundamental to us and constitutes a key piece of the value proposition of our territory.”

During his speech, Colomer emphasized that “in March the script changed for everyone, which we are still rewriting, but we did not hesitate for a moment to maintain this agreement, in the need to build the brand and not stop sustaining this alliance.”

The Minister of Tourism emphasized "the current need to cultivate new audiences through digital tools," and announced that his department will maintain its partnership with the Palau de Les Arts in 2021.

For his part, the president of the Board of Trustees of Les Arts recalled the main lines of work in the last four years, which can be summarized as visibility and promotion actions, both nationally and internationally, as well as new proposals for pairing the performing arts with other disciplines, such as gastronomy.

In this regard, Pablo Font de Mora has emphasized that the new agreement includes a section dedicated to the generation of digital content and the search for new audiences, which includes the online broadcast of 'Il tutore burlato' by Vicente Martín i Soler.

'Les Arts will offer, openly and completely free of charge, the only title that the most internationally renowned Valencian opera composer wrote in Spain before embarking on his European career, in a production carried out by established professionals from the Valencian Community,' he pointed out.

Two Valencians with established careers, Cristóbal Soler in the pit and Jaume Policarpo as the stage director, are the creators of 'Il tutore burlato'; the second original production that Les Arts is offering this season after the semi-staged version of 'Così fan tutte', by Mozart, which opened the season.

The cast is made up of the Center de Perfection Palau de les Arts artists Aida Gimeno (Violante), Ezgi Alhuda (Dona Menica), Oleh Lebedyev (Fabrizio) and Omar Lara (Pippo), along with the Valencian singers David Ferri (Don Lelio) and Gonzalo Manglano (Anselmo).

Fourth streaming

'Il tutore burlato' will become the fourth opera that Les Arts will broadcast via the Internet on the 20th, thanks to the collaboration of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana.

In March 2017, the arts center offered its first streaming opera, 'Lucrezia Borgia' by Donizetti, in an action that combined the visibility of the theater's artistic programming with the tourist attractions of the Borgia Route.

The bel canto recreation of the daughter of Pope Borgia was followed that same year, in October, by the concert version of Gluck's 'Le cinesi' and then in 2018 by Verdi's 'Il corsaro', one of the least known and performed works of the composer born in Busseto.

Other actions

In addition to the generation of digital content, the general director of Les Arts, Jose Monforte, recalled that the agreement with Turisme for 2020 has also contributed financially to the development of the activity of the 2019-2020 Season, with the programming of 'Il viaggio a Reims', by Rossini, as well as the activities parallel to this work such as the 'Rossini Marathon'.

Within the promotion section, the agreement also includes the contracting of various advertising media and other marketing actions aimed at giving visibility to the artistic offering of Les Arts.

Finally, it should be noted that Turisme, through Les Arts, is taking another step in promoting the Valencian Community as a cultural destination, as well as in the conservation of Valencian cultural heritage and in the dissemination of the performing arts; facilitating access to culture, as a basic necessity.
