Les Arts premieres at the Calderón d'Alcoi the first opera in a theater in the province of Alicante

Valencia (04.03.21). The Palau de les Arts premieres this summer, March 7, the first opera in a theater in the province of Alicante with the performance offered by the artists of the Center de Perfectionament at the Teatre Calderón d'Alcoi of 'L'isola disabitata', by Manuel García.

With the pianist Carlos Sanchis in the musical accompaniment, Larisa Stefan (Costanza), Evgeniya Khomutova (Silvia), Jorge Franco (Gernando) and Max Hochmuth (Enrico) perform this production from the Teatre Arriaga in Bilbao and the Teatre de la Maestranza in Seville, with stage direction by Emili Sagi, set design by Daniel Bianco, costumes by Pepa Ojanguren and lighting by Albert Faura.

The Valencian cultural capital of 2021 has the cycle of set performances of 'L'isola disabitata', by Manuel García, after the next five performances at the Teatre Martín i Soler and a session at the Principal de Castelló. It is the first production in the history of the theater that represents the three provinces of the Community, with the exception of the tour of the 'Les Arts Volant' truck.

'L'isola disabitata' is one of the five operas that Manuel García will write for his students. The singer, businessman, composer and master of Spanish singing will be one of the great figures of the cultural life of the 19th century that the Arts have recovered for the greater dissemination of this title.

“The work, both time and half of duration, includes àries, duos and passages of great virtuosity and beauty, that evoke the reference composers of the time such as Bellini, Rossini or Donizetti”, has highlighted Jesús Iglesias Noriega, artistic director of the Arts.

The commitment to carrying the activities of the Arts further into the building's voltages, according to Jesús Iglesias Noriega, is part of the autonomous vision of the artistic project for the theater.

"The physical location of the Arts in the city of Valencia is not an obstacle to developing a backbone program accessible to the entire city. In addition to the technological possibilities, itinerant initiatives such as 'Les Arts with you' and 'Les Arts Volant' allow us to donate to conéixer, through the incomparable experience of the directe, our artistic excellence”, he pointed out.

In this sense, Iglesias Noriega has remembered how after the confinement of the Arts, with Culture of the Generalitat, he will launch an intense artistic tour through the capitals of the Valencian regions with five performances of 'Les Arts Volant', new recitals from the Center de Perfection and six chamber concerts and two symphonics from the Valencian Community Orchestra.
