Valencia (03/09/21). The Palau de les Arts unites music, theater and plastic arts in 'Arenas Musicales', an educational show based on the work 'Quadres d'una exposició', by Modest Mússorgski.
This week, Les Arts releases a new proposal for the Didactic Programme, aimed at students from the beginning of the year and the family audience, which combines different artistic disciplines to enhance the sensory and perceptive experience of the most popular music, leading to a reference piece of programmatic music.
The spectacle is developed from the piano work that Modest Mussorgsky composed inspired by a posthumous exhibition of his friend, the Russian painter and architect, Viktor Hartmann, who will die just 39 years ago. The score is composed of two movements, which describe watercolors, paintings, sketches or graffiti by the artist - missing in the vast majority - that will form part of the presented exhibition.
The Muntatge de les Arts situates the spectator before the visit of the mateix Víktor Hartmann, who 148 years after his death returns to the Aula Magistral to see his own exhibition and accompany the musical transcription that his friend Modest Mussorgsky has performed for each of the six quadres.
The pianist Judith Kertész performs the famous suite of the Russian composer, while the actor Santiago Martínez gives life to the malaguanyat painter who contemplates the sand fillings that Borja González creates to the beat of the score.
Ideated and developed by the person in charge of the Arts Didactic Program, Víctor Gil, 'Arenas Musicales' combines and works different artistic disciplines and perceptive areas of xiquets and xiquetes.
On the one hand, the project stimulates the auditory capacity with the piano performance of the complete original work by Judit Kerstéz, while the dramatization of Santiago Martínez allows to train the cognitive competence in the second facet of guidance and bridge between the past and the present. Així mateix, the work of the sand artist Borja González affects the visual aspect with the creation 'in situ' of each of the works that make up the exhibition.
The activity allows, moreover, to include in more detail the figures of Viktor Hartmann and Modest Mussorgsky, one of the great innovators of Russian music of the Romantic period, the work of which for the piano will achieve new levels of popularity, even later, with the famous transcription by the orchestra that will released in 1922 Maurice Ravel.
'Les Arts és Educació' has reserved four performances of 'Musical Arenas' for the Didactic Programme. However, now, on March 13, the Aula Magistral will host two performances, at 12:00 p.m. and at 5:00 p.m., open to family audiences.
