Valencia (29.04.21). The Palau de les Arts invites you to discover the instruments that make up a symphony orchestra with 'Discover the OCV', a new educational production that will be available to all citizens from this Friday, April 30.
From that date, the theater's social media and website will offer this innovative audiovisual tool, produced entirely by the professional team of Les Arts and coordinated by the artistic direction of the cultural center, free of charge.
The purpose of 'Discover the OCV' is to bring the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana and the instruments that make it up closer together through a series of videos in which the musicians themselves, who make up the group, explain in a simple and practical way the particularities of each of them, accompanied by live performances of some of the reference pieces for each stand.
The audiovisual content, recorded in bilingual format, has an average duration that does not exceed 10 minutes, in order to generate material accessible from any technological device.
'Discover the OCV' contains the following chapters: violin, flute, French horn, clarinet, viola, cello, double bass, bassoon, oboe, timpani, trumpet, tuba, and xylophone. Each of the 13 videos, which will be available weekly on the Les Arts website, features the OCV's professors. Journalist and presenter Maribel Vilaplana introduces each episode of this audiovisual series.
Openness and disclosure
The initiative falls under the 'Les Arts és Educació' section, within Les Arts' commitment to opening the theater to the public, its artistic activity and its staff, in this case those who make up the OCV, considered one of the leading orchestras in the European operatic scene.
The project will have a second phase of development focused on Valencian educational centers so that from the next school year they will have this resource accompanied by teaching guides thanks to the close collaboration between Les Arts and the General Directorate of Educational Innovation of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.
