Valencia (04.06.21). The Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV) closes the 'Matins a Les Arts' cycle this Sunday, June 6, with a program featuring works by Bizet, Gershwin, Parker and Piazzolla.
The Main Hall will reopen its doors on another Sunday morning, at 12:00 pm, for this proposal with which Les Arts offers, with tickets at a single price of five euros, the opportunity to visit the Calatrava building and learn about its activity 'in situ' through its main artistic assets: the artists of the Centre de Perfeccionament, the Cor de la Generalitat Valenciana and the OCV.
On this occasion, the brass and percussion ensemble of Les Arts' resident orchestra takes center stage in the day's musical program with pieces and arrangements by leading composers of the 20th century.
The concert will begin with Astor Piazzolla's 'Suite de María de Buenos Aires,' followed by a selection from Roger Harvey's arrangement of Bizet's ' Carmen Suite,' which brings together the most famous melodies from the opera. This will be followed by George Gershwin's celebrated 'An American in Paris,' and the program will conclude with Jim Parker's 'A Londoner in New York.'
As a complement, the Main Hall offers an exhibition of costumes from two Les Arts opera productions closely linked to the concert program: the staging of Bizet's 'Carmen', which filmmaker Carlos Saura made for the opening of the 2007-2008 season, and Jean-Louis Grinda's production of 'Amelia al Ballo', by Gian Carlo Menotti, one of the most celebrated opera composers of the past 20th century.
Les Arts with security
Les Arts reminds everyone that it scrupulously complies with the regulations of the health authorities to guarantee the safety of the public in all its shows.
In addition to temperature checks and mandatory mask use, authorized personnel ensure that interpersonal distance is maintained appropriately, as well as controlled access to and egress from the room to avoid overcrowding.
These measures are joined by others such as the restricted use of bathrooms and elevators, different points with hydroalcoholic gel dispensers, along with the permanent renewal of air during 24 hours and daily disinfection with authorized biocidal products.
Furthermore, the theater management requests that the public plan their arrival with sufficient advance notice to ensure smooth access to the auditorium.
