Valencia (June 11, 2021). Austrian conductor Manfred Honeck, one of the most renowned conductors on the international circuit, will lead Beethoven's Symphonies 1 and 5 with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV) on June 18 and 19 at the Auditori del Palau de Les Arts.

Les Arts replaces Beethoven's 'Ninth' with this program, featuring works by the same composer, in order to preserve the artistic guarantees that will allow the public to enjoy the debut of the prestigious maestro at the helm of the OCV.

Manfred Honeck has been the principal conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra since 2008, one of the oldest ensembles in the United States, with which he has received numerous awards and distinctions for his recordings of Beethoven, Bruckner, Tchaikovsky, Strauss and Shostakovich, including the Grammy Award from the American music industry.

In his first visit to Les Arts, Honeck continues to feature Beethoven's symphonic works as his calling card. The Austrian conductor has selected the 'Symphony No. 1', which offers a glimpse into the essence of the German genius in his first foray into the symphonic realm, concluding with the 'Fifth', one of the most beloved pieces in the repertoire and still unperformed at Les Arts, whose first four notes are part of the universal imagery of classical music.

Les Arts reminds everyone that the concert on Friday the 18th starts at 8:00 p.m., while on Saturday the 19th the starting time will be 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices range from 30 to 45 euros.
