Les Arts és Simfònic

  • Núria Rial, Maite Beaumont and Damián del Castillo perform the proleg and the first and third parts of the monumental cantata, with the Choir of the Generalitat and the Valencian Community Orchestra
  • The concert program also includes the exuberants first and second suite from Ravel's 'Daphnis et Chloé'

Valencia (01.02.22). Josep Pons conducts 'Atlàntida', by Manuel de Falla, at the Palau de les Arts, this February 3, and at the Castelló Auditorium, the next day 4, during the first symphonic foray of the Valencian Community Orchestra in 2022.

After making his debut with the main group of Arts last season in Sagunt a Escena ia Castelló, Josep Pons returns to a suggestive program, which unites the fascination with the mythology of the Gadit composer in the monumental and unfinished stage cantata with that of his coetani and intimate friend Maurice Ravel in the first and second suite of 'Daphnis et Chloe'.

For the first part of the concert, the current owner of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, and reconegut with one of the great experts in the arrival of Falla, rescues only the passages that the composer is going to give endings or structures (proleg, parts I and III).

Recognize with the Catalan soprano Núria Rial (Isabel), the Navarrese mezzo-soprano Maite Beaumont (Pirene) and the Andalusian baritone Damián del Castillo (Corifeo) capping the select repartiment that will be performed, together with the Cor de la Generalitat and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, by Falla's fascinating score.

After the break, Josep Pons immerses himself in the exuberant and suggestive world of ancient Greece that Maurice Ravel will orchestrate in the demanding suites of 'Daphnis et Chloé', one of his seven essential works, both of which the viewer will be able to see the excellence of the stable works of the Arts.

Josep Pons will direct this said program that you see, February 3, at 8:00 p.m. at the Auditori de les Arts. One day later, the Catalan master will offer this mateix concert at the Auditori de Castelló, on Saturday the 4th at 7:30 p.m.

Les Arts és Simfònic

Josep Pons, considered one of the Spanish conductors with the most international projection, is part of the select list of national and international batons who will work with the Valencian Community Orchestra throughout the 2021-2022 season.

After the recent incursions of James Gaffigan, Juanjo Mena and Gustavo Gimeno, the visit of the Catalan master will be followed by the tour of the musical director of Les Arts, James Gaffigan (May 6), both works by Rodrigo, Ravel and Dvo?ák, and the debut of Mark Elder (June 10), which will close the program of Les Arts és Simfònic amb Stravinsky and Strauss in the faristol.

The locations for the Symphonic Arts Cycle have a price that ranges between 30 and 45 euros.
