Valencia (16.2.22). The French tenor Benjamin Bernheim performs this day, February 20, in the Main Hall of the Palau de les Arts, 'mélodies' by Chausson and Duparc and 'Lieder' by Brahms in the recital that will be offered during the cycle 'Les Arts és Lied'.

Considered “the most beautiful tenor show since Luciano Pavarotti” in the German rotary 'Süddeutsche Zeitung', Benjamin Bernheim is currently an essential name in the seasons of the Metropolitan in New York, Covent Garden in London, La Scala in Milà or the operas in Paris and Vienna.

His constant work, perfectionist expertise and solid vocal technique – influenced by personalities such as Jaume Aragall and Carlo Bergonzi – have earned the unanimous praise of specialized critics and the public, to convert him, in six years, into one of the operatic sensations of the moment and exclusive artist of the prestigious Segell Deutsche Grammophon.

For his debut in the Arts, the Parisian tenor, accompanied on piano by the Canadian Carrie-Ann Matheson, performs an intensely romantic repertoire, very reminiscent of the program which will be shown at the Salzburg Festival last summer. Brilliant interpreter of the French 'mélodie' both for technical excellence and for exquisite diction, Bernheim has triated two of the most distinguished authors of the genre: Ernest Chausson and Henri Duparc.

The tenor will begin the recital with one of his favorite fish, the cycle of songs 'Poème de l'amour et de la mer, op. 19', which the mateix Chausson will dedicate to Duparc and in which the composer captures the different stages of love in the life of l'home.

After the break, Benjamin Bernheim will focus on the melancholic universe of Johannes Brahms, along with some of the most famous and appreciated pages such as 'Die Mainacht', 'Dein blaues Auge', 'Immer leiser wird mein Schlummer' and 'Auf dem Kirchhofe'. The program will close with three songs by Henri Duparc, 'L'invitation au voyage', 'Phidylé' and 'La vie antérieure'.

The prices of tickets for the recitals of the cycle 'Les Arts és Lied' range between 20 and 40 euros. Així mateix, les Arts poses in Marx, with this recital, a new initiative to bring this generation to the younger public with localities with a single price of 15 euros. The cycle that the Arts dedicates to this musical form that unites sight, poetry and piano will continue with the recitals of Lisette Oropesa (March 5, 2022), Marianne Crebassa (April 2, 2022) and Jakub Józef Orli?ski (May 15, 2022).
