Valencia (07.02.22). Mayte Martín revives old flamenco sounds with her unique way of conceiving the traditional in the recital she offers at the Palau de les Arts on Friday, March 11 at 9:00 p.m., in the Teatre Martín i Soler.
The Catalan singer arrives in Valencia with her particular philosophy and artistic and musical aesthetic, on this occasion accompanied by the guitar of El Perla, a Sevillian performer who escapes the fashions that, according to him, permeate flamenco today.
From her very first steps, Mayte Martín breaks the mold: she is born with a very peculiar philosophy and a concept of the profession that are absolutely transgressive within the field of flamenco, since she is considered by her artistic aesthetic and her discourse as a pioneer and pillar of the so-called 'Catalan flamenco'.
Now, established as one of the most prestigious flamenco singers on the current scene and an important reference point for the new generation of young flamenco artists, she belongs to that strange category of artists who do not need, nor want, to release an album every two years to survive, or to maintain a place in the present or in the public's memory.
Les Arts reminds everyone that Mayte Martín's concert is next Friday, March 11th, at the Teatre Martín i Soler at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are priced at a single rate of 30 euros.
