Valencia (May 27, 2022). The Palau de les Arts launches its first patronage program for individuals as part of its commitment to involving citizens in the development and growth of its artistic project.
The general manager of Les Arts, Jorge Culla, and the artistic director of the institution, Jesús Iglesias Noriega, presented this initiative at a press conference. A pioneering initiative in the history of the theater, it will offer fans a closer experience of Les Arts' activities, in addition to the relevant tax deductions and exclusive discounts.
As Jorge Culla explained: “Beyond financial support, the purpose of this initiative is to establish new links with the public; beyond the theater-spectator relationship, it is to make them a main actor, part of the theater, of its daily life and its programming.”
“Being a patron of Les Arts is more than contributing to the growth of a leading arts center; it is about defending the promotion and dissemination of culture,” the general director pointed out.
In this regard, Iglesias Noriega referred to the recent success of the premiere of 'Wozzeck' in Valencia as an example of the importance of promoting and supporting artistic challenges at Les Arts, "for which the support of the citizens is indispensable," allowing the city and the Valencian Community to be a cultural enclave of reference.
The general director of Les Arts explained that the patronage program establishes four categories of collaboration based on the economic contribution: ally, with a minimum contribution of 100 euros; benefactor, from 400 euros; protector, from 1,000 euros; and great patron, with a minimum amount of 5,000 euros.
Each category entails, in addition to the usual tax breaks, a series of privileges depending on the chosen fee, such as early purchase periods, free tickets for educational activities, special discounts, guided tours of the building or free parking and cloakroom services.
Les Arts also introduces new initiatives with this program, such as the 'Centre de Perfeccionament Patronage Gala' or the creation of the 'Patrons' Hall', with cocktail service during the intermissions of the performances, or the establishment of digital and physical acknowledgment forms for the participants in the project.
From an economic point of view, Jorge Culla has highlighted the significant tax return that comes with being a patron of Les Arts according to the current legal framework: an 80% tax credit for the first 150 euros contributed, which becomes a 35% deduction for the amount exceeding those 150 euros and which, if the contribution were recurring, would rise to 40%.
Thus, for every 100 euros donated, an ally would receive a tax relief of 80 euros; from the minimum donation of 400 euros, a Benefactor would deduct 207.5 euros, or 220 if it were a recurring contribution.
In the case of the protector, the tax return of their 1,000 euros would be 417.50 euros or 460 euros if it is recurring and, finally, a major patron would receive 1,817.50 euros from the minimum contribution of 5,000 euros, which would amount to 2,060 euros if it is recurring.
The patronage program, which will begin operating next week through the arts center's website, will complement a sponsorship plan aimed at the business sector in order to add the support of the regional and national economic fabric to the Les Arts artistic project.
