Valencia (01.09.22). James Gaffigan and the Valencian Community Orchestra inaugurate this week the new season of Les Arts with a concert tour to Altea, Torrent and Torrevieja, in line with the institution's commitment to developing a backbone program to supply the entire city.
The musical director of Les Arts and the main formation will visit this time, September 1, the Palau Altea in the city of Marina Baixa, with a program on the pages of Esplá, Mozart and Schumann in the faristol, which will also be presented at the Auditori de Torrent, on the 2nd, and on September 3rd at the Auditori Internacional de Torrevieja.
On this tour, James Gaffigan conducts two unpublished works in the repertoire of the Valencian Community Orchestra: 'Simfonia no. 3', 'Renana', by Schumann, and the first quadern of 'Lírica espanyola, op. 54', by the Alacantí Óscar Esplá, orchestrated by Pedro Salinas. The main group of Les Arts will also perform the 'Simfonia no. 34' by Mozart.
The initiative is part of 'Les Arts amb Tu', the line of programming that develops proximity actions to bring the artistic activities of the theater and its various artistic activities to the diversity of municipalities of the three provinces of the Valencian Community.
During the past season, 'Les Arts amb Tu' has offered lyrical recitals, performed opera, chamber music and simphony performances in more than 20 locations in the Valencian Community, supported by the artists of the Center de Perfectionament, the Valencian Community Orchestra and the stage change of 'Les Arts Volant'. This proposal will continue until the 2022-2023 Season.
The Palau de les Arts makes the most ambitious commitment to the symphonic repertoire in the 2022-2023 Season, with the presence of some of the main conductors of the international circuit to conduct the Valencian Community Orchestra.
The OCV will be the protagonist of a selection of programs prepared to exhibit the same excellence together with the Choir of the Generalitat Valenciana, with essential pages of the great composers of the repertoire: Berlioz, Bernstein, Brahms, Debussy, Mahler, Prokofiev, Rakhmaninov and Strauss, among others.
The calendar includes a total of 16 performances and concerts in the three provinces of the Community, within the purpose of Les Arts to offer a proximity artistic activity.
