Les Arts and Amics de l'Òpera i de les Arts de la CV collaborate in promoting operatic activity

  • The main association of music lovers in the Valencian Community organizes the 'Perspectives' cycle with the stars of the Les Arts season
  • The collaboration agreement signed includes carrying out activities to enhance the dissemination of Les Arts' programming.

Valencia (27.10.2022). Les Arts and Amics de l'Òpera i de les Arts de la Comunitat Valenciana (AOA) are collaborating on the 'Perspectives' series of meetings, in which the main protagonists of opera and zarzuela analyze, title by title, the essential elements and dramaturgy of the productions that are performed in the season of the Valencian opera house.

The activity, open to all audiences, is included within the 'Les Arts és per a Tots' program section, whose main purpose is to open Les Arts - both its artistic production and its different spaces - to the public, through free or symbolic-price educational and musical proposals.

This is outlined in the collaboration agreement signed today by the general director of Les Arts, Jorge Culla, and the president of AOA, Álvaro López-Jamar, which also includes other actions such as the dissemination by AOA of the Les Arts program, the celebration of the association's annual awards for the best shows and artists, and the implementation of actions related to opera.

To this end, Amics de l'Òpera i les Arts de la Comunitat Valenciana will make a contribution of 3,000 euros per season and will facilitate the participation of people with sufficient training for the proper execution of all the agreed initiatives.

Both Jorge Culla and Álvaro López-Jamar have framed the agreement within the commitment to strengthen Les Arts' ties with civil society and enhance its presence in the development of its activities in the same way as the main opera houses.

AOA

Amics de l'Òpera i de les Arts, which celebrated its first ten years last June, is the main association of classical music and opera enthusiasts in the Valencian Community, with more than 300 members in the provinces of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia.

Born from civil society, its main purpose is to support and promote lyrical and musical activity, and especially that of Les Arts, through an open, innovative and high-quality program of activities.
