Valencia (January 22, 2023). Les Arts will close the 'Les Arts és Músiques Valencianes' series this coming weekend after the warm reception from the public for the concerts of the previous weeks. Pep Gimeno 'Botifarra' and Marala sold out all the tickets in the Auditori and the Aula Magistral respectively, and Neus Ferri from Alcoy made a lasting impression on the audience.

This weekend, the duo of Mireia Vives and Borja Penalba, and the singer-songwriter Esther, will be in charge of closing the cycle of Valencian music that Les Arts has brought to the opera house this January.

Mireia Vives and Borja Penalba will delight audiences with a very special concert on Friday the 27th at 8:00 p.m. The duo, comprised of Vives—vocalist in groups such as Bakanal and Rapsodes — and Penalba—guitarist in Dropo and who has played alongside Lluís Llach and Maria del Mar Bonet—recently announced their separation and their intention to pursue solo projects in the future.

Their assessment is "totally positive after 10 years of working together, three of their own albums, the Ovidi4 project, a lot of collaborations and hundreds of performances in all Catalan-speaking territories," so they just want to show their "infinite gratitude for the love received."

Since their first official release in 2016, Vives and Penalba have managed to amass a very diverse discography, with influences as varied as singer-songwriter music, rumba, pop-rock, folk, copla and even reggaeton.

As part of their farewell tour 'Punt ia part', they will perform a selection of songs from the albums they have released over the years and promise attendees unexpected surprises.

Esther

Singer-songwriter Esther will be the last to take the stage as part of this series, performing a concert on Saturday the 28th at 8:00 pm. The young artist from Vinaròs will present her latest project, 'Les cartes que mai vaig cremar' (The Carts I Never Burned), her first full-length album, released last December, in the Aula Magistral of Les Arts.

The singer from Castellón showcases in this album the full spectrum of colors that one can expect from the pop genre: from inspirational or love songs, to songs about the inevitability of life or the need to stop when one feels overwhelmed; also including a lullaby that she performs together with Sandra Monfort from the group Marala.

Esther had a successful debut almost two years ago with her first album, 'Les teues ales', and in just a year and a half she has performed in over 60 concerts, collaborated with the band La Fúmiga, and even lent her voice to the anthem of Valencian pilota. During this time, she has also met important people for her career, such as the musicians who will accompany her on stage.

This concert at Les Arts is the first of the tour in which Esther dispenses with the intimate and acoustic format that has characterized her latest performances, and opts for the use of a live band in order to bring out all the nuances present in the new album.

Les Arts és Músiques Valencianes

This is the first season in which Les Arts dedicates an entire cycle to Valencian music and with it has committed to reflecting the richness and musical variety of our territory.

It is for this reason that the cycle has explored different styles and expressions of the current scene: proposals that combine the traditional, pop, rock, roots music, mestizo music, singer-songwriter music…

Tickets to enjoy the performances in this series have a single price of 10 euros and are now available on the Les Arts website.
