Intended for students from the age of two and the family audience, the activity combines various artistic disciplines to enhance the sensory and perceptive experience of the most important elements of a reference piece of programmatic music.
The show is developed from the piano work that Modest Mussorgsky composed inspired by a posthumous exhibition of his friend, the Russian painter and architect Viktor Hartmann. The score is composed of two movements, which describe watercolors, paintings, sketches or graffiti by the artist - the vast majority of them disappear? that will form part of the esmented exhibition. 'Musical Arenas' places the viewer before the visit of mateix Hartmann, who 150 years after his death returns to Les Arts to guide us through the second exhibition and escort the musical transcription that his friend has created in his paintings.
The pianist Judith Kertész performs the famous 'suite' of the Russian composer, while the actor Santiago Martínez gives life to the malaguanyat painter who contemplates the sand fillings that the artist Borja González creates to the beat of the score.
Ideated and developed by the person in charge of the Teaching Program of Les Arts, Víctor Gil, 'Arenas Musicales' combines and works various artistic disciplines to create an unforgettable sensory experience for children.
On the one hand, the project stimulates the auditory capacity with the piano performance by Judith Kertész of the complete original work, while the dramatization of Santiago Martínez allows to train the cognitive competence in the second facet of guidance and bridge between the past and the present. Així mateix, the work of the sand artist Borja González affects the visual aspect with the creation 'in situ' of each of the works that make up the exhibition.
The activity allows, moreover, to include in more detail the figures of Viktor Hartmann and Modest Mussorgsky, one of the great innovators of Russian music of the Romantic period, the work of which on the piano would gain new popularity, even later, with the famous transcription for the orchestra that will premiere in 1922 Maurice Ravel.
