Valencia (03/30/23). Les Arts will offer, starting on March 31, the streaming of the opera 'Cendrillon', by Pauline Viardot, on the OperaVisi o n portal.
After the audience's success of Puccini's 'Madama Butterfly', in 2022, the free viewing platform will host, during the next six months, this production of Les Arts de l'operatic adaptation that Viardot will make of 'Cinderella'.
The director and founder of Comediants, Joan Font, signs the new report that Les Arts will premiere last February, which proposes a new narrative framework of the work, in which singers and pianist are present with the workers of a moving company, who, upon discovering Viardot's score, intend to represent it.
Joan Font's proposal also included new, more agile and current dialogues, in addition to musical numbers foreign to the score, with special attention to the Spanish cuplet, in a gest a l'spectacle de varietats.
The current promotion of the Center de Perfection de Les Arts stars 'Cendrillon': Rosa Dávila ('Cendrillon'), Mariana Sofía ('Armelinde'), Iria Goti ('Maguelonne'), Pilar Garrido ('La Fée'), Marcelo Solís ('Le Baron de Pictordu'), Maximiliano Spósito ('Le Comte Barigoule') and the pianist Ignacio Aparisi. The Valencian tenor Álvaro Diana performs Le Prince Charmant.
According to the artistic director of Les Arts, Jesús Iglesias Noriega, the choice of 'Cendrillon', in addition to claiming the menys repertoire usual in the theaters, knew how to claim the figure of the Spanish-French Pauline Viardot.
“The daughter of Manuel García and María Malibrán, German, will also be one of the most influential people in European cultural circles at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century,” Iglesias Noriega recalled.
"Composer, singer, pianist, singing teacher... In Viardot's biography some of the most relevant figures of the time are included: Gioachino Rossini, Frédéric Chopin, George Sand, Ferenc Liszt, Richard Wagner, Clara Schumann, Johannes Brahms or Camille Saint-Saëns," he said.
Amb la seua col·laboració amb Opera Vision, Les Arts continues with its commitment to bringing opera to all audiences, in this case with technology as eina.
