Valencia (05/05/2023). Les Arts will be on this day, May 7, at 12:00 p.m., the last 'Matins a Les Arts' concert of the season. The Valencian Community Orchestra (OCV), under the direction of Josep Gil, will perform a program dedicated to some of the most iconic soundtracks of the art set for a single price of 5 euros.

A line-up of OCV strings will perform this morning concert with a piece from the film 'Old Friendship' (1943), directed by Vincent Sherman and starring Bette Davis. The composer of this soundtrack, Franz Waxman, is best known for having composed music for 'Twilight of the Gods' and 'A Place in the Sun', both of which earned two Oscars.

This will be followed by the music of Oscar winner Bernard Herrmann. L'OCV will perform themes from Hitchcock's legendary thriller, 'Psycho' (1960), and also from François Truffaut's film 'Fahrenheit 451' (1966), one of the flagship films of the French 'New Wave'.

L'OCV, later, in a metal and percussion format, will address some of the most recognizable John Williams soundtracks in the history of cinema. First they will play a selection of songs from the film 'ET, the Extraterrestrial' (1982) and will finalize the concert with four of the most emblematic fish of the 'Star Wars' saga, among which is the ominous troba 'Imperial Marx'.

The 'Matins a Les Arts' cycle includes a diverse program at a price of 5 euros, which includes performers among the different artistic acts of Les Arts: the Valencian Community Orchestra, the Valencian Generalitat Choir and the singers of the Center de Perfectionament.
