Valencia (19.05.23). Alba Molina closes the 'Les Arts és Flamenco' cycle this Friday, May 19, with 'Nuevo día', a tribute to her parents Lole and Manuel, the legendary duo who, with their recording debut in the seventies, laid the foundations of new flamenco.
The Sevillian singer, accompanied on the piano by Pepe Rivero, will include in her performance at the Teatre Martín i Soler unforgettable songs such as 'La mariposa' or 'Un nuevo día', in a new version that, without losing the essence and the original magic of the brilliant couple, has new nuances and some touches of jazz.
This is not the first time Alba Molina has revisited the musical legacy of her parents, to whom she already dedicated a trilogy recorded on record between 2015 and 2019. 'Nuevo día' borrows its name from the legendary album with which Lole and Manuel burst onto the music scene in 1975. The LP, a huge bestseller at the time, represented an aesthetic revolution of the genre, both in its performances and its lyrics.
'Nuevo día' continues the innovative trend in Alba Molina's music, a combination of jazz melodies fused with flamenco, which she already reflected in her album 'El beso' (2020).
After traveling the world as a model, Alba Molina turned to music. Her debut album was 'Despasito,' and her godparents were her father, Manuel Molina, and Alejandro Sanz. With it, she earned the award for Best New Artist at the Music Awards. Later, she joined the group Las Niñas and sang 'Noches de bohemia' with Navajita Plateá, which, along with 'No puedo quitar mis ojos de ti,' is among her biggest hits.
Tickets for Alba Molina's concert, which will be the last event of the 'Les Arts és Flamenco' series this season, have a single price of 30 euros.
