Valencia (06.09.23). The Palau de les Arts celebrates this Sunday, September 10, the sixteenth edition of its open house, with which the building designed by Santiago Calatrava resumes its activity to the public.

Les Arts will remain open this day from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., at which time the last groups of visitors will be allowed to freely explore the different spaces, such as the Main Hall, the Auditori or the Espai Los Toros until 7:00 p.m.

Throughout the tour, the public will be able to learn through audiovisual projections about the different lines of activity hosted by the various rooms of Les Arts, as well as the main protagonists of the 2023-2024 Season.

As a main new feature, in addition to the extended opening hours, Les Arts has included activities specially designed for families and younger audiences.

The Espai Los Toros, located on the twelfth floor of the theater, hosts four sessions of two of the most popular educational workshops within the educational program, VestuArts (11:00 and 16:00) and CaracterizaT (12:30 and 17:30), in which the creation of opera characters through costumes and all possible elements of characterization is explained to children, and also to the adults who accompany them.

Likewise, the Aula Magistral will also host another unprecedented activity of the Open Day, an original conference-show: 'A presentable presentation', a "talk in several acts and a unique picture without a frame or anything", as Enrique Viana himself explains, in which the tenor will do a hilarious exercise in musical theater to break down the details of the new Les Arts Season.

For their part, the artists from the Center de Perfectionament del Palau de les Arts and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV) will be the protagonists of the musical offering.

The Teatre Martín i Soler will host two sessions, at 12:00 and 17:00 h, of a recital in which the young singers and pianists of the new promotion of the Les Arts training project will perform songs, as well as well-known fragments of opera and zarzuela.

The OCV, for its part, will be in charge of closing the day with a symphonic concert conducted by James Gaffigan in the Auditori at 8:00 p.m., with which the American maestro culminates his tour with the Les Arts resident ensemble through the Valencian territory, which began on the 1st.

On the music stand are three works with which to enjoy the excellence of the OCV: the suite 'Le Bourgeois gentilhomme', composed by Richard Strauss as incidental music for an adaptation by Hofmannsthal of the work of the same name by Molière, the overture of 'La capricciosa corretta' by the Valencian Martín i Soler and 'Symphony 39', by Mozart, one of the last three symphonies of the genius from Salzburg, considered as one of the masterpieces of Viennese classicism.

Tickets

Les Arts reports that all free tickets for the various musical events are sold out, with the exception of the lottery for tickets to the Centre de Perfeccionament recital at 5:00 p.m. All slots for the educational workshops are also full. Les Arts reminds the public that Enrique Viana's engaging lecture will be free of charge until the room reaches capacity.
