Valencia (24.10.23). The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía inaugurates this Sunday, October 29, the cycle 'Les Arts és Grans Veus' with the performance of the Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orli?ski, the great current phenomenon of baroque music, who will sing in the Main Hall at 7:00 p.m.
After his overwhelming debut in the Lied cycle in 2022, for which he sold out all the seats and in which he broke the record for applause and encores, the sought-after performer returns to Valencia with an evening entirely dedicated to the early Baroque under the suggestive title of 'Beyond'.
Accompanied by the prestigious historicist group Il Pomo d'Oro, which the Valencian public will remember for its brilliant concert together with the mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, Orli?ski offers a program where he rescues little-known songs and arias by authors such as Monteverdi, Kapsberger, Cavalli, Frescobaldi, Saracini, Krell, Strozzi, which make up the repertoire of his most recent album work: 'Beyond'.
As the Polish singer explains: “With this album ('Beyond') and this program specifically designed for concerts and auditoriums, I want to focus on the overall meaning of the word ' beyond'. Above all, to show people that this music transcends its time. It is still relevant today, alive, vibrant, moving, engaging, and entertaining.”
Tickets for the first concert of 'Les Arts és Grans Veus', in the 2023-2024 season, are priced between 24 and 60 euros. Countertenor Philippe Jaroussky and tenor Javier Camarena will headline the upcoming performances in this series, which brings together some of the most iconic artists on the operatic circuit.
Big star
A charismatic performer with an impeccable and elegant singing style, the young Jakub Józef Orli?ski (Warsaw, 1990) has become, in record time, one of the most promising stars on the international opera scene.
A champion of the new generation of countertenors, his debut album of arias, 'Anima Sacra', won the Gramophone Award for Best Young Artist in 2019 and the Opus Klassik Award, while his album 'Facce d'amore' was named Best Recording at the International Opera Awards. 'Anima Aeterna' and 'Beyond' are his most recent recordings.
The sought-after singer, invited by theaters such as the Metropolitan in New York and Covent Garden in London, can also boast of attracting new audiences and hanging the 'no tickets available' sign in auditoriums and concert halls in Europe and the United States.
Furthermore, Orliński is a renowned star in the media and on social networks with thousands of followers, who venerate both his genius as a countertenor and his undeniable talent as a breakdancer.
