Valencia (14.12.23). The Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV), with Gustavo Gimeno as musical director, begins a tour this week that will visit the three provincial capitals, with works by Sibelius and Mahler, as part of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía's commitment to offering a program with regional scope.

With this intense tour, the most internationally renowned Valencian director maintains his annual commitment to Les Arts, which will take him to conduct the theater's resident company at the Auditori of the Valencian arts center (15), the Auditori of the Alicante Provincial Council (17) and the Auditori of Castelló (20).

Gustavo Gimeno proposes on this occasion an exuberant program, which includes the last orchestral work of Jean Sibelius, his 'Seventh Symphony', within Les Arts' commitment to offering twilight works of the great composers this season, and a new foray into the Mahlerian universe with his first symphony 'Titan', two pieces with which to enjoy the excellence of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana.

Established as one of the leading conductors for the OCV, with which he has worked continuously since 2019, and for the audience of the Valencian theater, for whom his concerts are an essential event each year, the principal conductor of the Luxembourg Philharmonic and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, with only a few tickets remaining, is nearing a full house for his first concert of this tour, which he will perform at Les Arts this Thursday, December 15.
