Valencia (September 4, 2026). The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía begins its activities open to the public with an intense Open House Day next Sunday, September 13, with educational workshops, opera recitals, a symphonic concert and a free tour of the building's spaces, in addition to other initiatives.
Les Arts will remain open from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. , at which time the last groups of visitors will be admitted, to wander freely through the different spaces, such as the Main Hall, the Auditori, the Terrasses de les Palmeres or the Espai Los Toros until 7:00 p.m.
During their visit, the public will be able to learn firsthand about the architectural details of the building designed by Santiago Calatrava, as well as the variety of proposals hosted by its different rooms and the main protagonists of the 2026-2027 Season.
Les Arts will also offer activities specially designed for families and, in particular, younger audiences to experience the theatre for themselves.
On one hand, both the Main Hall Vestibule and the stage of the Master Classroom will have pianos available to anyone who wants to experience their artistic moment, while the Espai Los Toros, located on the twelfth floor, will host two educational workshops in double shifts.
Staff from the Les Arts technical team and the education department will give two sessions of VestuArts (11:00 and 16:00 h) and CaracterizaT (12:30 and 17:30 h), in which the youngest children, as well as the adults who accompany them, will learn the process of creating the characters of an opera through the costumes and the elements of characterization, respectively.
Les Arts reports that there will also be food and beverage outlets in different areas of the building: Ice cream parlor and vermouth bar in the Main Hall lobby, horchata bar in the Terrasses de les Palmeres, as well as a bar service.
Musical program
The artists from the Centre de Perfeccionament and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV) headline the musical offering of the Open Day, which will begin at the Teatre Martín i Soler with two performances, at 12:00 and 18:00, of a recital by the singers and pianists of the Opera Studio of Les Arts, who will perform lyrical songs and opera pieces.
The Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, for its part, will conclude its usual regional tour at the Auditori, ahead of the start of the season at Les Arts. Following its concerts in Torrent and Altea featuring Mussorgsky's 'Pictures at an Exhibition' and Tchaikovsky's 'Symphony No. 5', the theater's resident orchestra will repeat this same program under the direction of German conductor Anja Bihlmaier (8:00 p.m.) as the grand finale of the day.
Les Arts announces that tickets for the educational workshops and vocal recitals are a flat rate of three euros, while tickets for the OCV concert cost five euros. For more information, please visit the theater's website .
