Valencia (16.5.26). The Valencian Community Orchestra (OCV) culminates its brilliant season this coming Saturday, June 20, as part of the programming of the LXXV edition of the Granada Festival, with a concert with works by Falla, Ravel and Stravinsky, with mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa as soloist and Gustavo Gimeno on the podium.

Under Gimeno's direction, the resident orchestra of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía makes its third appearance at the prestigious festival, a benchmark event for leading international conductors and ensembles, following its memorable visits with Thomas Hengelbrock (2020) and Zubin Mehta (2011).

Previously, the most internationally renowned Valencian conductor will close the Les Arts és Simfònic cycle at the Auditori on Thursday, June 18, with this same program that combines the imagined Spain of Maurice Ravel in Rapsodie espagnole and the felt Spain of Manuel de Falla with the Seven Spanish Popular Songs in the voice of Marianne Crebassa as a tribute to the most universal man from Cádiz on the 150th anniversary of his birth.

Gimeno dedicates the second half of the concert to another of his favorite composers, and the subject of some of his most acclaimed recordings, Igor Stravinsky. The principal conductor of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Teatro Real completes the Diaghilev-Stravinsky trilogy he began with the OCV in 2020 with The Firebird .

Les Arts reminds everyone that tickets for the Gustavo Gimeno and Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana concert can be purchased through the theater's various sales channels: box offices, the sales line 96 197 59 00 and the Les Arts website.
