Gustavo Gimeno meets again with the Orchestra of the Valencian Community
Born in Valencia, Gustavo Gimeno began his international career as an assistant to Mariss Jansons, while he was a member of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra. He also acquired a valuable experience as an assistant to Bernard Haitink and Claudio Abbado. He is currently musical director of the Luxembourg Philharmonic and, from the 2020-2021 season and for five years, of the Toronto Symphony, an orchestra with which he debuted in 2018 with a concert acclaimed by audiences and critics which included pages from Beethoven, Ligeti and Dvorák. In 2019 he directed it again with works by Stravinski, Sibelius and Prokofiev.
